Reducing Victorias bushfire risk on public land: Fuel management report 2015–16
Client: Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning
Achievement: Following the success of last years report, we extensively revised the report's content structure to make it easier to read and use. We also wrote some sections of the report and edited the remainder
The project: Forest Fire Management Victoria report annually — by region and for Victoria — about the achievements of its fuel management program. Fuel management can be a contentious activity and its important that the intended outcomes of fuel management activities, and the metrics and narrative that report on achievements, are clear and the public understand them.
Last year, we restructured the report format to more clearly explain the metrics and what was achieved during the year. For 2015–16, we went one step further to separate out background information from specific data and narrative about the year's achievements. We also made extensive use of hyperlinks to relevant Acts, policy statements, key concepts and strategies so readers have the whole story on the screen and at their fingertips.
