A big, complex writing project calls for special skills: skills you can learn at a Get it Write! start writing workshop. You'll build confidence in your writing abilities PLUS lay the right foundations and get tools to start writing, straight away.
A Start writing workshop gets you off to a strong start by:
reviewing with other writers what a major writing job is all about
visualising the writing process from beginning to end, how to keep the job on track and how to get the most from colleagues
learning how to identify, collect and organise the information you need, quickly and efficiently
seeing what causes writer's block and how to make a writing job enjoyable and low-stress
developing, with feedback from other writers, a draft structure for your job.
Get it Write! holds regular one-day workshops. Workshops are facilitated by Christine Nagel, an experienced editor and accredited trainer. Workshops combine presentations, group discussion and activities, and each participant receives a comprehensive guide to the content. Lunch and morning and afternoon tea are provided.
In 2011, the workshop fee is $460 including GST. There are discounts for earlybird registrations. Courses can also be arranged in workplaces.
